What Information Do We Collect?

When you purchase from our store, we collect personal information including your name, postal address, and email address as part of the buying process. When you browse our site, we also automatically receive your device's IP address, which helps us understand your browser and operating system.

With your permission, we may also send you emails about our store, new products, and other updates.

Legal Basis for Processing Your Data

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are required to identify a lawful basis for processing your personal data. We rely on the following:

  • Contract performance (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) — to process your order, arrange delivery, handle returns, and provide customer support.
  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — to analyse website traffic and improve our service (via Google Analytics), and to protect against fraud.
  • Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR) — to retain transaction records as required by Irish tax and accounting law.
  • Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) — to send you marketing emails where you have opted in. You may withdraw this consent at any time.

Consent

How do we obtain your consent?

When you provide personal information to complete a transaction, verify a payment, place an order, arrange delivery, or process a return, we infer your consent to collect and use it for that specific purpose only.

If we need your personal information for any secondary purpose — such as marketing — we will ask for your explicit consent, or provide you with an opportunity to opt out.

How do I withdraw my consent?

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at info@beoutdoors.ie or by writing to us at the address below.

Your Rights Under GDPR

As a data subject, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

  • Right to restriction of processing — you may ask us to pause the processing of your data.
  • Right to data portability — you may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — you may object to processing based on our legitimate interests, or to direct marketing at any time.
